Dr Maximilian Droste and his family after the thesis defense.

On 18th May 2026, Maximilian Droste, PhD candidate at the University of Cologne (Germany) under the supervision of Prof. Peter Reiter, successfully defended his thesis titled “Nuclear Structure and Collectivity of Neutron-Rich Tin Isotopes around 132Sn”. In his thesis, he presented an investigation of collective properties of 130,134Sn, neighbouring the doubly magic 132Sn isotope, through a Coulomb excitation experiment run at Miniball. The data (experiment IS702) were collected during three beamtimes in 2022, 2023 and 2025.
